Bobby (Robert) Schneider was born on October 20, 1928 in Budapest, Hungary. His parents were Kitty and Julius Schneider. Bobby was seven when he left Hungary  with his younger brother Arthur in 1935. He promptly forgot the  Hungarian language in the U.S. because his parents were Americans.

Bobby grew up in California and worked as a Medical Care Administrator for U.S. Health & Human Services

in San Francisco, California.

He got married  in California and had three daughters.

Lynn Schneider, the filmmaker, is his eldest daughter.

She  found the wooden box of the Schneider family's  romantic original black and white footage from the 1920s, and was intrigued by these mysterious images to make this documentary short.
